Description: The growth of cell phones and email technology means that it's almost impossible to escape from the office - even when you're on vacation.

This worksheet looks at how the communications revolution has become a double-edged sword. There's a reading, comprehension questions, collocation practice and lots of discussion.

This worksheet is designed for upper-level students. It will works well in both regular and business-English classes.

Title: Business Update

Description: This worksheet is part of a series of handouts looking at different business-related topics.

This handout looks at tax rises and industrial relations.

Students have cut up strips for two different newspaper articles. They need to separate them and put them in order.

There are also vocabulary-building exercises, with your students learning phrases such as 'curb the deficit', 'rein in public sector pay', 'denounce the rise', 'ballot members' and more.

With lots of discussion questions, this is a great worksheet for advanced-level students who want to be able to talk fluently about the current business climate.

Target Structure: Reported Speech / Questions
Level: Intermediate+
Time: 45 minutes
   
Description: This worksheet is a great way to get your students more confident with reported speech and reported questions.

There's a conversation with practice exercises. There's also a vocabulary-building exercise, so that students can move beyond 'said' and 'told' with words such as 'mention', 'reassure' and 'claim'.

The lesson rounds off with an exercise where students interview each other, and make a presentation using reported speech.

This worksheet is for intermediate-level students. It has lots of Business English, but will also be great for general-English learners.

Description: If you have students who need to be able to explain charts and graphs, this is just what you need.

This handout has pages of bold pie-charts and graphs for your students to work with. They will learn to express percentages, fractions and trends.

This worksheet is written for intermediate-level students, but you can adjust it for lower-level students.

Description: This worksheet gives low-level students some basic 'Survival Business English' for talking about a company.

There's a short reading, plus extensive practice of common business expressions. Your students will be able to talk about their company's location, number of employees, main products and more.

This worksheet will work with groups and in one-on-one classes. It's written for lower-intermediate classes, but can be adjusted for other levels.
