Making the Payment

1  PayPal (or 2Checkout) aren't accepting my card. Why?

You need to be careful about the following when paying with PayPal or 2Checkout:

A Make sure you enter your name exactly as written on the card.

B You need to enter the billing address of the card. This might be different to your home address, especially if you're living abroad.

When entering the billing address for your card, choose the correct country first. The address fields will then change, making it easier for you to enter the billing address.

C

When entering your card details, be sure that you enter the following correctly:

1) Enter the BILLING address for the card

Many teachers live overseas, or at a different address to where the card is registered. Make sure the address you enter is the BILLING address for the card.

2) The Cardholder's Name

Make sure you enter the name exactly as it's written on the card.

3) The 'Card Verification Number'

You'll need to enter the Card Verification Number, which is a 3-digit number on the back of the card. It's usually written on the signature strip. It's the FINAL THREE DIGITS on the back.

CVV

4) The Expiry Date

Make sure you enter the expiry date correctly, and that you don't mix up the month and year.

2  PayPal won't let me enter the correct address.

When entering your billing address, choose the country first. It's in a drop down list. Wait a moment, and the screen will update and you'll find the boxes you need to fill in correspond with your country's address style. [back]

3  Do I need to become a PayPal member?

No, you don't. When you click through from Handouts Online to the PayPal payment screen, you'll be given two choices. One says 'Log into your PayPal account'. Only click on this if you are a PayPal member.

If you aren't a PayPal member, click on the link which says 'Pay by credit card'.

It's not necessary to become a PayPal member. You just need to enter your credit card information, and you're finished! It's quick and very secure.

There is also an alternative to PayPal. You can pay through 2Checkout. They provide secure, encrypted payment. Your card details are not passed onto Handouts Online.

If you have already created an account, log in, and on the member's page, choose '2Checkout' in the Add / Renew Membership section.

4  What can I do if PayPal doesn't accept my country?

PayPal now accepts credit cards from almost any country. If your country is not on the drop-down list, you can still join, by using 2Checkout.

If you have already created an account with Handouts Online (but haven't paid for it yet), you can log into it, using the username and password you chose. Scroll down, and you will see a section marked 'Add / Renew Membership'. Select the membership type (Individual or Group), and choose 2Checkout as the payment method. When you click on 'continue', you'll be taken to the 2Checkout payment page. [back]

Viewing Worksheets

1  When I click on a worksheet, I get a blank screen.

Very occasionally, there can be a problem with the version of Acrobat Reader installed on a user's computer, which leads to a blank screen when viewing worksheets.

It's very easy to fix.

First uninstall the version of Acrobat Reader you have on your computer. Then, go to the Adobe website, and download the latest version of the Reader software. It's free. The link is here.

As soon as you've reinstalled the latest version, you'll be able to view the worksheets without any difficulties. [back]
